Parents and students praise district inclusion program at Sunnyvale board meeting

"Ha sido una colaboración tan linda entre los profesores, la administración, los estudiantes y los padres," Sala said, thanking staff and volunteers for supporting the program. Student leaders described regular activities, two annual trips and pizza social events used to create sustained connections. Board members and community volunteers joined the recognition, posed for a group photo and shared refreshments after the presentation.
Board members said they will continue to support expansion to additional schools and noted the program’s alignment with the district’s stated promise that every student be known by name. The recognition was placed early on the agenda; no formal action was required beyond acknowledgment and community thanks.
