Friends plan fair and 5th Street Social book distributions; Foundation to meet in August

Lisa Mellecker reported on behalf of the Friends of the Library, saying the group will provide books at the Public Libraries of Johnson County booth at the County Fair and at the 5th Street Social on Aug. 8. She told trustees the Friends finalized a bylaws change and reaffirmed priorities to grow membership and improve communication with the Board of Trustees.
Galstad said the Library Foundation has not met since the last board meeting but is scheduled to meet in August; she reported several recent donations to the Foundation. The reports did not prompt board action at the July meeting.
