Coralville commission hears $40,000 estimate for Plaza on 5th ERV repair; special assessment possible

During reports at the Feb. 3 meeting, Sherri from Coralville Parks & Recreation told the Arts Commission that the Plaza on 5th has two active initiatives: installing a lock and security system and repairing the roof ERV. The minutes state, "That will be about a $40k fix, and might require a special assessment." She also reported ongoing humidity problems in the building and said design engineers will be brought in to identify the cause.
Commissioners recorded the estimate and the possible need for a special assessment; no formal vote or assessment decision was made at the meeting. Staff said further engineering analysis will follow to determine scope and cost.
