Winlock parks recovery continues; volunteer cleanup and youth baseball season planned

Parks Caretaker Kirsten Stalnaker told the council the Parks Department has been engaged in cleanup work after the December 2025 storm and highlighted a successful firewood project led by Roy Talbot. Proceeds from that project will be used for park improvements, and a spring volunteer cleanup is scheduled for April 11, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
Stalnaker also said the Winlock Youth Baseball Association recently completed installation of a new roof and windows on the concession stand and that the baseball season is scheduled to begin April 13, 2026 and run through June. Councilman Jess Bowers asked whether Stalnaker could help maintain planter boxes at the Community Building steps; Stalnaker said she would provide assistance as needed.
