The Sunol Glen Unified School District governing board voted to approve Resolution 252026-36, ordering an election to authorize issuance of $6.1 million in general obligation bonds for capital projects.
At public comment, community member and former trustee Denise Cat Romo urged support for the measure, saying the bond is an "equitable way to gather funds from the community" and noting community fundraising has already supported school projects. Board trustees discussed timing to place the measure on the November ballot and reviewed project lists and the abbreviated bond summary appended to the resolution. One trustee framed the $6.1 million figure as a compromise intended to balance need and likely voter support.
Trustees discussed clarifying language in Appendix B so the abbreviated summary more accurately reflects the projects that will be prioritized if voters approve the bond. Board president moved to approve the resolution with the suggested edits; a trustee seconded and the motion carried with an affirmative vote.
If approved by voters in November, the bond would fund repairs and modernization across campus, with district leaders noting the measure is not guaranteed to cover every project listed and that the board will set priorities for work after further assessment.
