The Sudan ISD Board of Trustees on Jan. 13 approved the superintendent's recommendations for election staff for the May 3, 2025 election. The board appointed Mechelle Edwards as Elections Administrator and as Early Voting Clerk and Central Count Station Manager; Kristy Peck as Deputy Early Voting Clerk; Sheri Markham as Early Voting Ballot Board Judge, Central Count Judge and Election Day Judge; Ruth Ortega as Early Voting Ballot Board Alternate Judge, Alternate Election Day Judge and bilingual clerk for Election Day; and Epimenio Salinis as bilingual clerk for early voting. Each appointment was moved by Ryan Harper, seconded by Clay Carr, and adopted 7‑0.
The appointments complete the administrative staffing the board approved the same night when it ordered the May 3 election and approved notices and polling locations. The district will publish final voting‑location notices and carry out required training and logistical steps for early voting and central counting according to state procedures.
