The Sudan Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Jan. 13 to order a general election to be held May 3, 2025, to elect two at‑large trustee positions to three‑year terms. Superintendent Scott Harrell told the board the seats currently held by Susan Baker and Joe Ky Shultz will expire; Ryan Harper moved to order the election and Clay Carr seconded. The motion carried 7‑0.
At the same meeting the board approved the Notice of General Election Order and the Notice for Early Voting and for Election Day, and it approved early voting locations and times and Election Day polling locations and times as presented. The board also approved a resolution to hold a joint election with the City of Sudan on May 3, 2025, and a Joint Election Agreement with the city. All election‑related motions carried by unanimous votes.
