Sunnyvale ISD discusses elementary Chromebook refresh and possible 2026–27 course additions
Summary
District technology and curriculum staff presented a plan to begin bidding for an elementary Chromebook refresh and outlined possible middle/high school course additions for 2026–2027; both items were informational and no approvals were taken.
Director of Technology Buck Baskin presented a proposal to refresh elementary Chromebooks and told the Board the district will begin the bid process for the project. The presentation was informational; the Board did not approve procurement at this meeting.
Executive Director of Teaching & Learning Courtney Sharkey reviewed courses under consideration for inclusion in the Sunnyvale Middle and Sunnyvale High School catalogs for 2026–2027. District staff also presented routine departmental reports during the Superintendent’s report, including annual ESL and CTE reports and the maintenance report; two items (Sunnyvale Education Foundation report and SIS report) were postponed to later meetings.
