The Sunnyvale Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Nov. 17 to approve the Total Sheet and Prime Contractors for the district’s Phase 2 construction project. Trustee Linda Gooch made the motion, Trustee Kelleyton Wilson, Sr. seconded it, and the measure passed 7–0.
The approval included authority for Superintendent Matt Kimball to finalize prime contractors on the district’s advertised estimated line items, with the exception of alternate T1, as presented to the Board. No dollar amounts or contractor names were disclosed in the public minutes; the Board’s action authorizes district staff to complete the procurement details under the parameters approved at the meeting. The vote was recorded as: Brad Cravens (Yea), Ben Wright (Yea), Kelleyton Wilson, Sr. (Yea), Linda Gooch (Yea), Pollye Hunter (Yea), Lee Mathew (Yea), Michael Threet (Yea).
The construction approval follows project planning previously advanced by district staff; the Board did not record substantive debate on alternatives during the meeting. Next steps indicated in the motion give the superintendent delegated authority to execute final contractor agreements consistent with the Board’s direction.
