The Sunnyvale I.S.D. Board of Trustees voted 7–0 on Oct. 29 to deny a combined set of Level Three grievance appeals identified as numbers 1, 2 and 3 and to deny the requested remedies after returning from executive session.
Motion language recorded in the meeting minutes states: "Motion made by Linda Gooch, seconded by Lee Mathew, that the board deny the combined Level Three grievance identified as one, two, and three and further move that the Board deny the requested remedies." Trustees recorded unanimous Yea votes in open session at 8:09 p.m.
Board members present at the vote included Board President Brad Cravens and Trustees Linda Gooch, Michael Threet, Ben Wright, Pollye Hunter, Kelleyton Wilson, Sr., and Lee Mathew. The board had consulted with the district's legal counsel in executive session under Tex. Gov't Code §551.071 and conducted hearings under §§551.074 and 551.0821 prior to the action. The board then returned to executive session to continue deliberations on other appeals.
