Trustees review unfinished bond projects, discuss multi-tiered track and facility repairs

Contractors from Teinet Construction and Hellas Construction described remaining items that were added to the original project list, including outdoor shades planned for the East Ridge playground. Teinet representatives and Hellas’ Bob Shipley answered trustees’ questions about repair levels and costs. The board noted that lights had been purchased from Colorado ISD during that district’s renovations and discussed reusing them for the Sweetwater track as part of broader work.
Shipley outlined several tiers of repair for the track and field and agreed to prepare a full estimate that would account for resurfacing and drainage corrections. The minutes record that "the current track surface was installed in 2020 and is in very bad shape," and trustees asked for a complete cost proposal before deciding whether to phase work or pursue a full replacement.
Trustees also discussed ancillary projects tied to campus facilities, including a four-sided dropdown scoreboard for the gym and possible spray-on insulation for the agricultural barn. When asked about auditorium renovations, trustees noted a planning-level estimate that completing all previously listed auditorium items would cost roughly $2–3 million and that projects may need to be phased over multiple years.
The board directed Reggy Spencer to continue gathering estimates and to meet with contractors to refine final project lists and costings before next steps are scheduled.
