Young Footliters reports record programs, 55 cast in 'The Music Man Jr.'

Marc Doobay, representing Young Footliters Youth Theatre, told the commission that 55 students were cast in The Music Man Jr. and that the organization is preparing for a large summer with multiple camps—several of which are already sold out.
Doobay described the Traveling Playhouse’s newest camp, The Case of the Missing Masterpiece, and said the Spring Showcase on April 24 featured more than 140 young performers. He also noted the Junior Theatre Leaders program completed its first year of training high school students to be theatre educators and described school tours of Curious George conducted by the Imagination Studio.
Commissioners congratulated the program on strong participation and agreed to visit a teacher training session on June 2 as part of planned fieldtrip options.
