The Spearman I.S.D. Board of Trustees on Sept. 9 approved a resolution designating certain days as "nonbusiness days" for calendar year 2024 and delegated authority to the superintendent to name nonbusiness days beginning with 2025. Board Secretary Scott Sonnenberg moved the resolution and Trustee Jay Tracy seconded; the motion carried 6-0.
Exhibit B lists the district's designated nonbusiness dates for 2024 as Oct. 14; Nov. 25, 26, 27; and Dec. 20, 23, 27, 30 and 31. The action implements provisions of Government Code Section 552.0031, which allows governmental bodies to designate days when administrative offices are closed or minimally staffed for purposes of public information requests and limits the number of such days to no more than 10 per calendar year.
