Stanfield FFA outlines plans for state convention; five seniors to receive state degrees

Dawn Daria Stark, who identified herself during the meeting, presented on behalf of the Stanfield FFA chapter about an upcoming state convention scheduled during spring break and outlined what students will do there.
"We were lucky to have 5 seniors this year, get the honor of getting their state degree," Stark said, describing the work students completed to earn the award. She explained that delegates from the chapter will listen to candidates for state office and vote during general session, and that the convention will include recognition ceremonies, keynote speakers and competitions.
Students and presenters described the convention’s educational elements: leadership workshops, agriculture technology and career-development sessions, chapter-management training for incoming officers, and optional team-building activities such as bowling and group dinners. The presenters said these sessions help prepare younger officers and build chapter leadership capacity.
The board acknowledged the presentation and asked logistics questions, including the convention dates and travel schedule. The board later considered and approved an overnight trip for the FFA delegation (see related article on board actions).
