District administrators delivered brief reports on multiple operational items at the Feb. 11 Stanfield School Board meeting. Lacey Sharp reported on elementary attendance and Reading/Math diagnostic data; Blaine Braithwaite reported attendance, academic successes and completion of round two of MAP testing; and Lorena Woods (Dean/Athletic Director) presented discipline and referral data and an athletics update that included the Booster Bash scheduled for Feb. 14 at EOTEC and confirmation that spring athletics' first official practice date is March 2.
Superintendent Beth Burton reported on personnel matters, the March Revenue and Economic Forecast, student growth data and current enrollment numbers. During board comments, Karen Johnson asked if the district is above state averages on testing; "in reading we are," Blaine Braithwaite replied. Board members offered praise for school programs: "I give kudos to Lacey for the article that came out about the Elementary School," Cecili Longhorn said, and Nikki McCann said she "loves the Einstein Race" and that students seemed highly engaged.
