The Tatum ISD Board of Trustees approved a resolution on Feb. 10 authorizing the district to advertise the lease of real property for subsurface horizontal drilling as required by board policy and the Natural Resources Code. Assistant Superintendent of Finance Brandon Milam told trustees the district must publish the advertisement in a newspaper of general circulation for three consecutive weeks and asked interested parties to direct information to him by Feb. 28, 2025.
Trustee Matt Crawford moved to approve the resolution and Curt Smith seconded; the motion passed 6-0. Board discussion centered on satisfying the statutory and policy notice requirements; the board did not approve any lease terms at the meeting and will accept responses to the advertisement before further action.
