The applicant also submitted a landscape plan showing under‑deck planting and four oak trees; commissioners agreed that the final landscape plan and replacement lighting should be reviewed and approved by the chair and planning staff prior to issuance of a building permit.
Neighbors who spoke praised the added landscaping and the applicant’s willingness to change lighting. Commissioners said the canopy and small additions fit the house’s character and that reduced and downward‑oriented lighting would limit view impacts and light pollution. The motion to approve the design review with the stated conditions passed by voice vote.
