The City Council approved a revocable license allowing existing private improvements to remain in the public right-of-way at 3 Belvedere Way. Mayor Wilkinson and another council member recused themselves from the item because they live within 500 feet of the subject property; a motion to approve the license passed after discussion and a vote by the remaining members.
Council members asked staff whether PVC drainage pipes crossing the lane were city-owned or private; staff reported no record of the pipes and said they were not city-owned, so any changes related to lane drainage would require additional review and possibly a separate license. Council also confirmed the public benefit of the license included maintenance of plantings on city property and improved roadway surface within the public right-of-way adjacent to the driveway. A motion to approve the revocable license carried on a council vote.
