The York County Board of Assessment and Appeals convened May 5 at 9:00 a.m. at the York County Government Center. The board approved the March 10, 2026 minutes (motion by Harry Johnson, second by Vickie Smith) with six members voting in favor.
During the session the board addressed four property appeals. For parcel 778-01-01-077 the board ordered a site visit to verify a contested finished-basement area and requested findings within 30 days. The board upheld the assessor’s valuation for parcel 020-11-01-188 after the appellant questioned year-to-year tax increases, and it upheld the valuation for parcel 655-00-00-416 after the scheduled appellant failed to appear and a default was entered under SC Code section 12-60-2530(C)(4). For parcels 588-01-02-016 and 588-01-02-017 the assessor's office and the appellants agreed to reduce each lot's assessed value to $15,000. The meeting closed and adjourned at 11:50 a.m.
