During the public-comment portion of the Feb. 26 special budget meeting, resident Rita Lodato addressed the council about religious displays at Walker Park.
"She stated that all symbols should be permitted and requested that the Council members vote on the placement of a cross at Walker Park for the Lenten season," the minutes record. Lodato also asked that all documents and materials related to the discussion be preserved.
The council did not discuss or vote on the request during the meeting. Earlier in the agenda, the council had opened and closed an agenda-only public-comment period in which no speakers came forward; Lodato's remarks occurred during the general public-comment portion later in the meeting.
