The Tom Bean ISD Board on Aug. 12 approved four substitute teachers and hired two teachers on probationary contracts for the 2024-2025 school year. Trustee Shawna Merriman moved to approve substitutes Emily Edmonds (long-term 2nd grade), Karah Sanders, Matt McFatridge and Katy Preece; Trustee Tom Sharp seconded and the motion passed 7-0.
Trustee Tom Sharp moved to hire Evie Nabors and Rachel Kallas on probationary teacher contracts for the 2024-25 school year, per elementary principal and superintendent recommendation; Trustee Scott Renfro seconded and the motion carried 7-0. The minutes list the hires and substitutes but do not include salary, campus assignment beyond the long-term second-grade note for Emily Edmonds, or start dates.
