At the Aug. 12 meeting, the Temple ISD board presented a consent agenda that grouped multiple memoranda of understanding, a budget amendment, agreements, and reports. Items listed on the consent agenda included multiple 2024–2025 MOUs (Central Texas 4C Head Start; Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries; Temple Education Foundation; Teachers of Tomorrow; Central Counties Services; 411 House; Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services), a student internship affiliation with MTC, an AkzoNobel installment agreement, a telephone consultation agreement with counsel, student travel to the National SkillsUSA Washington leadership training, and purchases over $50,000 (including contracted speech-language pathology services), among other routine items.
One item — the 2024–2025 Memorandum of Understanding for Medical Center Based Education Program with Baylor Scott and White McLane Children’s Medical Center — was removed from the consent agenda for separate consideration. The board approved the remainder of the consent agenda by motion (recorded 7-0). Later in the meeting, the Baylor Scott and White McLane Children’s Medical Center MOU was approved on a separate motion moved by Virginia Suarez and seconded by Dawn Cook; the record shows the motion carried 5-0 with two abstentions (Dan Posey and Shannon Myers).
