“I, Marie Hansel, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of a member of the Board of Education of Beecher Community Unit School District 200 u in accordance with the constitution of The United States, the constitution of the state of Illinois, and the laws of the state of Illinois to the best of my ability,” Hansel recited during the swearing-in. The oath included commitments to protect district assets, respect free expression, and work with the superintendent to advance the district’s vision.
Board members then welcomed Dr. Hansel. The appointment followed a special meeting to conduct interviews for the vacancy; the chair noted the seat was vacated by “Mr. Herman.” No public comment was offered during the recognition segment.
