VFW asks Pitman council to consider implementing state resolution increasing veteran tax credit

During the public-comment portion, Rob Glass, quartermaster for VFW Post #6469, asked the borough to consider implementing a resolution adopted by the New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs that would raise the local veteran tax credit. Glass described the change as an increase "from $250 to $2,500 over the next 4 years" and said he would provide a copy of the state resolution for council review.
Brianna Felice, commander of VFW Post #6469, offered to help with volunteer opportunities in town, and Pastor Shane Ross invited residents to community events such as the recent chili cook-off and to attend the Veteran’s Day Parade on Nov. 11. The council did not take immediate action during the public comment period; follow-up would require formal introduction of a local ordinance or resolution if council chooses to act on the VFW request.
