The Borough of Clayton Council on June 11 adopted Ordinance 7-2026, amending Chapter 59 (Fire Prevention) to create rules and fees for issuing certificates that identify smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms and secondary power-source labels. The motion to adopt was made and seconded and passed on a roll-call vote with Councilmembers Wolak, Rollo, Chapes, Moorhouse and Vondran voting yes.
The ordinance establishes a new Article III to the code to formalize issuance procedures and fees for the certificate described in the ordinance title. No public comments were offered during the hearing on the ordinance. The measure was approved as presented and will return for any further implementation steps in future council action.
