The Tarkington Independent School District Board approved the 2024–25 fiscal year budget at its Aug. 26 special meeting. The motion to adopt the budget, made by Kevin Johnson and seconded by Lane Gulledge, passed unanimously among present members with one absence recorded.
Chief Financial Officer Thad Lasater presented the budget during a public hearing at 6:31 P.M., explaining the proposed spending plan for the coming year and noting that the district's tax rate will be set at the September regular board meeting. The record shows there were no public comments on the budget hearing. The board's recorded vote on the budget was Yea: 6, Nay: 0, Absent: 1.
