Plans for Alcyon Park improvements and three new street trees near Endgrain Coffee discussed

Pitman Borough Council heard updates Nov. 12 about park maintenance and street-tree plantings in the borough.
Mayor Razze said cleanup work at Alcyon Park completed useful work despite lower turnout, attributed to smoke from nearby Glassboro fires. Lisa Phillip, representing the Woman's Club, outlined improvement ideas for the Alcyon Park overlook aimed at making the site safer and more attractive; Councilman Uyehara said the Environmental Commission planned to focus on the area.
Separately, Councilman Uyehara reported Shade Tree Commissioner Josh Hitchner will plant three shade trees in front of Endgrain Coffee on Pitman Avenue; council discussed whether sidewalk cutouts or other approvals would be necessary before the work occurs.
