Pitman council authorizes up to $25,000 for appraisal of Sony property

Pitman Borough Council on Nov. 12 authorized an appraisal of the Sony property for an amount not to exceed $25,000 after council president reported a single bid for that amount.
Council President Fitzpatrick said only one appraisal bid had been received at a cost of $25,000 and asked Administrator McCafferty to move forward with an appraisal of $25,000 or less. Administrator McCafferty noted the current budget contains no line item for the appraisal but that the cost could be included in the 2025 budget if necessary.
Council took a roll-call vote on the motion to authorize up to $25,000 for the appraisal (motion: Fitzpatrick; second: James) and recorded unanimous yes votes from all council members present.
