"So I need a motion to approve the technology department purchases for $250,912.35 for fiscal year 25," the chair said, and the motion passed by roll call. Board members noted the district had $350,000 of land‑sale proceeds that would bolster the education fund and that timing could allow the purchases to be paid this fiscal year without creating a deficit.
Technology staff also proposed a senior device pilot: students who keep issued Chromebooks in good condition for four years would be offered their device deprovisioned and cleaned at graduation; students who attended fewer than four years could purchase the device for a $50 fee, and the district would refuse the option if unpaid fees or repeat breakages remained on record. Staff said devices would be factory‑reset and asset tags removed before transfer to students.
