He said the replacement would require 2–2.5‑inch supply lines run about 200 feet through tunnels and that contractors must remove old piping to install new hung lines.
Board members asked about scheduling and budget timing; Dr. Gagan said the district could bid the work to take place in the summer and that timing will determine which fiscal year is charged. He noted the district maintains reserves and that staff will return with bids and a recommended schedule.
The board did not take a vote during the facilities discussion; Dr. Gagan said he expected estimates to be ready in the coming months for a formal approval request.
