Superintendent Susan Penrod announced at the Feb. 17 board meeting that she will retire after seven years with Seaside School District and plans to remain through Sept. 1, 2026 to assist in the transition to new leadership.
Penrod told the board she considers this "the best district and board she has worked with," and the board acknowledged her service during board reflections. The announcement came among routine agenda items; no board action was required. The district will begin transition planning and the board will oversee the search process for a replacement, with Penrod coordinating handover steps through the late summer.
