Payte Hansen, a SJSHS student, presented a student report at the April 13 board meeting describing involvement in football, baseball, some basketball, career-technical education (CTE) classes, the National Honor Society, and volunteer work. Mr. Blane Lazar introduced Payte and described him as a consistent example of student commitment and community service.
Payte told the board he plans to join the U.S. Air Force to become an aviation mechanic and pursue further education while serving. Advising younger students, he said: "shoot for better than you think you can do." Board members praised his service-oriented activities and noted his example when discussing outreach and recruitment for the district’s programs. The student report is available in the meeting packet online.
