The Valley View ISD Board of Trustees approved a revised 2026–27 school calendar on May 25, moving a staff development day from February 19 to February 22. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Nancy Montemayor presented the calendar change and described it as the only revision to the proposed calendar.
Trustees asked when the district would know whether it had received a 21st Century grant; Interim Superintendent Dr. Monica Luna said the district expects that notification in July. The motion to approve the revised 2026–27 calendar, made by Board President Claudia Coronado and seconded by Marisol Peña, passed 4‑0 with three trustees absent.
The adopted calendar will be used for planning for next school year; administrators said they will report back when grant decisions are finalized.
