EDC members report state workshop takeaways; South River businesses attended

Secretary Melissa Appleby told the committee she and Treasurer Amin Moawad attended the June 26 state "Business Resource for Success" workshop to learn about grants and application help. "There were a lot of people from within the county there, about 4 or 5 businesses from South River attended," Melissa said, and she said the state provides staff who can help businesses complete applications.
Melissa said she and Amin will prepare a printout explaining where to look for grants and how to apply, and emphasized that the state's assistance could reduce barriers that deter businesses from applying. The committee supported distributing the materials to prospective businesses and including the information in any outreach packet developed with the Mayor's office.
