The Waxahachie Independent School District Board of Trustees convened a called meeting May 21, 2026, in the WISD board room. President Dusty Autrey called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m.; trustees and district administrators were present, and Trustee Adrian Cooper led the pledges to the Texas and U.S. flags.
The board entered closed session at 7:01 a.m. and reconvened at 7:44 a.m. In open session the board approved two motions by unanimous vote: hiring Chris Thompson as principal of Waxahachie Creek High School and donating 3.14 acres (parcel #294909) to the City of Waxahachie for construction of a fire station adjacent to the JH #4 campus. Trustee Kim Kriegel then moved to adjourn; the meeting ended at 7:49 a.m.
