Waelder ISD honors staff and students in September spotlight

The Waelder Independent School District Board of Trustees opened its Sept. 22, 2025 meeting with September spotlight recognitions from Elementary Principal Sharon Talbert and Secondary Principal Traci Talley. The principals recognized staff members LaDonna Huelett and Maria Netro and students Sebastian Villeda Barrera, Juana Nino Amaro, Bryan Nino Colunga and Celeste Matamoros for their contributions and achievements.
The recognitions were presented at the WISD cafeteria before the board entered closed session later in the evening. The board had previously called the meeting to order at 6:11 p.m. with a quorum of five trustees present.
