The commission reviewed summer programming and a revised Parks and Recreation schedule that staff said was approved by the city council on May 26 and will be effective July 1, 2026. A staff reading of the packet called out a first volunteer cleanup day scheduled for July 11 at Perrigo Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"her 1st volunteer cleanup day will be July 11 at Perrigo Park from 10 to 1," a commissioner reading the packet said. Commissioners discussed the volunteer cleanup as a soft opening for the park and noted the planned duration—roughly two hours of cleanup followed by an hour for lunch. The packet includes a finalized schedule and a flyer for distribution.
The commission also confirmed summer public-skate programming: adult nights on Thursday, all-ages on Friday and Saturday, and a sensory-friendly session every third Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. Commissioners discussed possible camps including equestrian day camps and mountain-bike or swim-related programs; Jan agreed to check with local archery resources about a possible archery offering.
