Veribest leaders pursue Texas Strategic Leadership steps; nine teachers qualify for state incentive recognition

District leadership told the board Nov. 18 they are continuing work under the Texas Strategic Leadership (TSL) process and reviewing curriculum choices to improve student growth measures.
"It was a good experience and confirmation as well that we are doing good work in Veribest," Principal Amber Palmer wrote in her report about TSL visits. Superintendent Mandy Traylor said the district extended survey opportunities to gather more feedback and that a PEIMS at-risk reporting error was identified and corrected; she said that correction may partially explain prior accountability results. Traylor also reported that nine teachers in the district qualified for the Texas Incentive Allotment, a state recognition for classroom performance.
Administrators said they plan a gradual rollout of any curricular changes under TEA guidance and will continue to pursue high-quality instructional materials and leadership coaching through the TSL initiative.
