Veribest ISD completes move into new building; Grand Opening held and community events underway

Veribest Independent School District has completed its move into the new campus building, Principal Amber Palmer told the board, and staff have begun instruction inside the new facility.
"We got all moved into the new school, and it has been AMAZING," Palmer said, adding that teachers are "smiling all the time and so happy." The district hosted a Grand Opening on Nov. 7 and the cafeteria served a Thanksgiving lunch on Nov. 8 that fed 89 community members outside of students. Palmer also described an ESL presentation outlining supports for English-learners, a successful ACT administration on Oct. 29 for seniors, and campus safety checks including a coordinated fire drill run after the move.
Superintendent Mandy Traylor said some exterior work remains before final punch — painting the canopy and completing a concrete step — and reported that the district has moved out of portables and plans to offer them for sale. She also announced Free Dirt Days Nov. 22–23 for community members who want hauled dirt from the site.
