Administration recommended cancelling the July 8 Board of Education meeting and retaining the July 22 meeting to satisfy the Open Meetings Act requirement for at least one meeting per month. A trustee noted the July 8 date falls just after Independence Day and favored protecting staff time; another trustee suggested the July 21 work session be held at the Keney Busch Math and Science Center to highlight summer programming there.
A motion to cancel the July 8 meeting was made, seconded and passed by roll call 7-0. Trustees said they could schedule a work session in July if needed and that logistics for the Keney Busch location could be decided later.
