Superintendent Shaw said the revised contract explicitly breaks out staffing hours: "the high school is at 40 hours per week and the middle school is 20 hours a week," and stressed the intent was to ensure all home events are covered.
Board members asked whether travel and postseason coverage had limits and whether additional postseason appearances could create added costs. Superintendent Shaw explained travel coverage "will be only for varsity regular season football games" and that postseason MHSA events would be covered upon request of the Monroe Public Schools director of athletics. After discussion the board approved the contract by roll call, 7-0.
