The Waller ISD Board of Trustees on May 14 approved a revision to the district's eligibility standards for co‑curricular and extracurricular activities to strengthen academic accountability and align with Academic Eligibility UIL‑exempt courses.
Secondary Director of Curriculum and Instruction Traci Underwood and Athletic Director NeKisha Durham presented the recommendation, which they described as intended to "strengthen academic accountability, ensuring standards align with the Academic Eligibility UIL‑exempt Courses while maintaining flexibility for students." Trustee Brittany Neel moved to approve the update, Vice President Jeff Flukinger seconded, and the motion carried 5‑0 with two trustees absent. The Curriculum & Instruction department will implement the change and publish guidance to campuses prior to the 2026–2027 school year.
