Blue Lake Rancheria says EOP needs revision; Cal OES grant will fund CERT coordinator and program manager

"Britney Lewis, OES for the Blue Lake Rancheria," Lewis said at the start of her update and explained that the tribal EOP is currently intertwined with casino-specific procedures and cannot be released publicly in its present form. She said the tribe is working to produce a public-facing hazard mitigation plan and that the online link is being repaired; an updated plan is due by mid-July.
Lewis also announced a recent Cal OES grant award to support CERT-team creation. "We will be hiring a program manager and someone to manage our CERT team as we call it full time for the next, year and 0.5," she said. Lewis said the tribe is completing final administrative steps before full implementation and that it has accepted an invitation to participate in a September public safety fair.
Commissioners discussed coordination between the city, county and tribal plans, and agreed to prepare a concise, staff-usable pullout from the EOP that would list job descriptions and contacts to make plans actionable in tabletop exercises. No formal adoption occurred; staff and commissioners agreed to continue refining the plan and to present a draft to the city council later in the year.
