The village opened a public hearing to consider vacating an unimproved alley between Sugar Street and Mozart Street (north of Colfax). Resident Matt Christie asked whether property owners would receive a new recorded plat or survey after the vacation and whether the village would update its maps. "If later in the agenda it's approved and we record the plat, we can give them a copy of the recorded plat," staff said, adding the village will update its GIS with images comparable to existing maps but that the GIS imagery will not be field‑verified.
Staff said the recorded plat will contain the actual property markings and the GIS update will be approximate until field verification. The Administration, Technology and Community Health committee later advanced the item and placed it on the consent agenda for final council action.
