The Monroe Public Schools board reviewed an updated contract with ATI to provide athletic‑trainer services beginning Aug. 1, 2025, including 40 hours per week at the high school and 20 hours at the middle school.
"This contract, it begins August 1," the board chair said while introducing the item. The document’s Schedule B lists a total annual cost that was described in the meeting as increasing from $100,500 to $110,000 to cover roughly 60 hours per week of trainer coverage and a 1.5 certified‑trainer staffing model.
Board members pressed for small but substantive edits. Trustees asked that pandemic‑specific wording referencing COVID‑19 be broadened or removed and that a line referring to “Twitter” be updated. They also sought confirmation of a compensation clause (section 4) and clarity on who authorizes additional trainers; staff said additional coverage would be provided at the district’s request and authorized by the athletic director.
Superintendent/board staff said they will incorporate the editorial and legal clarifications and circulate the revised contract ahead of the formal agenda packet, and trustees were asked to direct specific edits to Tom or the chair before the contract returns for action.
No formal motion or vote was taken at the informational review.
