Staff report: wastewater project moving to mobilization; clarifier valve repaired, quotes sought for full repair

Engineering contractors and subcontractors have completed pre-construction coordination for the village wastewater project and staff expect mobilization and equipment staging to begin shortly. Staff said they were "ready to move along" and that equipment would be brought in and the site laid out in preparation for construction.
On the treatment side, staff reported the primary clarifier had a stuck 18-inch gate valve about 20 feet down. "We were able to get that taken apart and repaired," a department head said, and added they were pursuing additional vendor quotes to repair the clarifier itself and bring it back online in the next one to two weeks. No contract award was finalized at the meeting; staff said they had one quote from Crawford and were soliciting another.
