West Rusk CCISD board accepts clean 2023–24 audit, reports $2.36 million fund balance

The West Rusk County Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the district's annual financial report for the fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2024. Albert Garcia of Mays & Associates told the board the "audit opinion is unmodified, which is a clean report," and that the audit disclosed no material weaknesses.
Garcia reported the district has a fund balance of $2.36 million and said district staff provided requested information promptly. Superintendent Lawrence Coleman and Director of Business Operations Mindee Mata were thanked in the presentation for facilitating the audit. Trustee Matt Eastwood moved to accept the audit; Robert Anderson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The approval completes the district's required reporting for the fiscal year to the board.
