Bond‑project staff gave trustees a comprehensive status report across bond projects clustered by type (roofs, HVAC, kitchen upgrades, building envelopes, student restrooms and athletic facilities). The presentation listed architects, contractors, start and projected end dates and reported multiple causes of delay, including incomplete engineering designs, manufacturer lead times for doors and equipment, and coordination with school schedules.
The presenters said roughly $65,000,000 of projects are currently in active phases out of the district’s $160,000,000 bond program (presented as a rough estimate). Several projects are out for bid or in early construction; some are significantly delayed (examples included HVAC engineering delays and a Mary Hogue track delay caused by poor soil requiring remediation). Trustees pressed for clearer timelines and more frequent updates and asked staff to publish presentation materials online for public reference.
Trustees also asked about non‑bond infrastructure items such as the pool and drainage at certain campuses; staff said some issues will be addressed through separate local non‑bond projects and agreed to provide updates at a future meeting.
