The presenter said the adoption included intensive training and coaching for teachers and noted this is the first full year of implementation.
The district explained the adoption process was supported by the LASO cycle grant and Region 1 assistance, estimating roughly $600,000 of training and support from Region 1 to cover product academies, internalization days and substitute pay for teacher training. “Our adoption right now is the LASO cycle 3 grant is funding… All of this extra training... rounded off to about $600,000 worth of training and support from Region 1,” the presenter said.
Trustees asked about fidelity, pacing and contingency for teacher absences. Staff said the curriculum is intended to be tier‑1 instruction and that campuses have some latitude for on‑campus coaching when teachers are absent; pacing expectations allow a five‑day window for being on scope and sequence. Benchmarks and product observations are scheduled to measure the program’s first‑semester effects.
