Trustees flag multiple building and safety items; alarm vendor to inspect town buildings
Summary
Trustees deferred several maintenance items pending Selectboard coordination and reported BK Systems will inspect town building fire alarms. Small repairs (mailbox, coffee table) and cannon maintenance by a Boy Scout were assigned.
Trustees passed over painting, railing, retaining-wall and foundation-crack items because the member who normally follows Selectboard reports (Sophia) was absent; they did not have updated Selectboard input at the meeting.
Director Caroline Pynes reported BK Systems will be touring town buildings tomorrow to assess the fire alarm system and the Town Administrator told trustees a new alarm company is needed by July 1. Caroline also said the library's fire permit expired last month and she has left messages for the fire chief and will escalate to email or an in-person visit if she does not receive a reply.
Trustees assigned small repairs: Tom Downey will repair the mailbox and tighten a coffee table. Caroline reported that Shane Eldredge, a Boy Scout, will fix the cannon outside and has coordinated with the Historical Society; Caroline will reply to his letter. Larger scope repairs remain under Selectboard purview and were tabled until Sophia or the Selectboard can provide updates.
